Former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has admitted that Spartak Moscow will be in for a stern test when they face Leicester City on matchday three in the group stage of the Europa League on Wednesday afternoon.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner believes that the Foxes are one of the strongest teams in the English Premier League and to buttress his point he referred to their recent victory against Manchester United.
Moses is aware of the threat posed by Leicester City having faced them thirteen times combined while wearing the colours of Crystal Palace, Stoke City, West Ham United and Chelsea during his time in England, prior to his move to Spartak Moscow.
"Yes, this opponent is well known to me. And every year Leicester became more and more serious club," Moses said to the official webpage of Spartak Moscow.
"Today they can be called one of the strongest in England. This is the current holder of the Cup of the country, and last weekend the Foxes beat Manchester United. With confidence in their abilities there is complete order.
"It is clear that it will be very difficult for us. Although personally I have good statistics against Leicester. In the Premier League, if I'm not mistaken, I lost to them only once."
Ahead of his fourteenth appearance against Leicester City tomorrow, the retired Nigeria national teamer has tasted defeat three times, won seven, drawn three, and scored against the Foxes in Chelsea's last title-winning season.
"When Leicester visited Chelsea in 2016 as a champion, we won 3-0, and I managed to score one of the goals.
"As a result, the title passed to Chelsea that season. I hope we win on Wednesday too, and I will be able to consolidate my personal positive statistics," Moses added.
Moses was a key member of the Chelsea side that won the Europa League in 2013, netting in four consecutive matches enroute to the final, and featured in the 2020 showpiece between Inter Milan and Sevilla.
