The reason Super Eagles midfielder Nnadi was omitted from Marseille's squad against Lorient

Olympique de Marseille midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi was absent from his side’s 2-0 defeat to FC Lorient on Sunday due to injury.

Nnadi, who linked up with the Olympians during the winter transfer window, has already been tipped for a possible exit due to limited playing opportunities.

Since arriving in the winter transfer market, the Nigerian has managed just four league appearances, accumulating a mere 34 minutes of action.

His lack of involvement has fueled growing concerns over his future at the club, with sections of the fanbase beginning to question whether he has what it takes to make an impact at the highest level.

However, Nnadi missed what appeared to be a crucial opportunity to impress manager Habib Beye, especially with key absentees including Geoffrey Kondogbia and Conrad Jaden Egan-Riley.

Both players were unavailable for the fixture at the Stade du Moustoir due to injury, a situation that would ordinarily have opened the door for increased playing time for Nnadi.

However, according to L’Équipe, the Nigerian international was also ruled out after sustaining a knee injury during preparations for the match.

The setback comes as a significant blow for the midfielder, who is still working to adapt to life in France following his move after an impressive spell in Belgium.

With only a handful of matches remaining this season, Nnadi faces a race against time to regain fitness and convince manager Habib Beye of his value to the squad before the campaign concludes.
