Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has provided an update on defender Tosin Adarabioyo’s availability ahead of the Blues’ FA Cup fourth-round clash against Hull City on Friday night.
The Nigeria-eligible defender, who impressed by scoring in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Charlton Athletic in the previous round, has been sidelined in recent weeks due to a hamstring injury.
Tosin sustained the injury during Chelsea’s Premier League fixture against Brentford in January, which forced him to miss several important matches and disrupted the squad’s defensive plans.
Speaking ahead of the Hull trip, Rosenior confirmed that the defender has returned to full training but cautioned that a selection for the upcoming match is not yet certain.
“Tosin trained fully for the first time on Wednesday, so this game might come a little bit too soon, but we'll make that judgment with the medical team,” Rosenior was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official website, emphasizing the need to manage the player’s workload carefully to avoid any risk of re-injury.
The head coach also highlighted the significance of this week for the Chelsea squad as they continue their FA Cup campaign. He pointed out that the team has been working hard in training sessions to maintain their form and cohesion ahead of the visit to Hull City.
