Boavista loanee Chidozie Awaziem was in positive mood ahead of Nigeria's 2022 World Cup qualifying match against Liberia and stressed the need for the team to keep a clean sheet during the game at Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier.
One of the underrated players in the Super Eagles squad, the fact is that Awaziem always gives his best when called upon by manager Gernot Rohr.
The Porto-reared Awaziem can be described as a three-in-one player as he is comfortable playing as a central defender and right fullback, and the role of a defensive midfielder is not new to him having started his career in that position.
Speaking to the Super Eagles Media Team, Awaziem said : "I think everyone is motivated, everyone is ready for the game.
"We are completed today in the team and we are all focused for the game on Saturday and we hope to come out with a positive result.
"We are preparing so hard to make sure we get the three points and we qualify."
Asked if he's thinking of helping the Super Eagles keep a clean sheet, Awaziem responded : "Yeah basically as a defender you always want to get a clean sheet so I hope we work together behind as a team and try to get a clean sheet if I get to start.
"I'm also going to give my best to help us get a goal".
Awaziem has started the two away matches played by the Super Eagles in World Cup qualifying, against Cape Verde and Central African Republic, and has one assist to his name.
