'Trying his best' - Porto coach urges fans to back Moffi after he was booed against Nottingham Forest

Manager Francesco Farioli has urged fans of Porto to rally behind Nigerian striker Terem Moffi following the reaction he received during Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash against Nottingham Forest.

Moffi, who arrived at the club during the winter transfer window, endured a difficult outing and was booed by sections of the supporters as he was substituted in the second half.

Addressing the situation, Farioli admitted that the club’s supporters have high expectations but emphasized the importance of patience and continued backing for the forward.

"We know that our fans are demanding, which is good, "Farioli said, according to O Jogo, during his press conference before the Liga Portugal clash against Estoril Praia.

"In the match against Nottingham, there was a moment of some frustration, but he's trying his best, working hard in recent months."

Despite the struggle, the coach expressed confidence that the striker is progressing in the right direction and will continue to deliver.

"He's on the right track, he's already scored important goals for us and more will come," he added.

The Porto boss also called on supporters to channel their emotions positively, emphasizing the importance of unity within the club.

"The frustration and emotion of the moment must remain in that moment; the Porto family must be united and undoubtedly support the team, showing that all the players are focused on what's best for FC Porto," the manager said.

Since joining the club, Moffi has been working hard to rediscover his best form, recording one goal and one assist in seven league appearances.

Ahead of the clash against Estoril, he will be aiming to deliver an improved performance and make a positive impact for his side.
