Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Fenerbahçe’s ongoing efforts to sign Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, with the Turkish club reportedly determined to secure a deal ahead of the transfer window deadline.
Romano explained that Fenerbahçe are actively pursuing the 28-year-old, with their sporting director currently in Italy to meet with both Atalanta and the player’s agents.
He said on his YouTube channel: “Fenerbahçe in Turkey are working hard to sign Ademola Lookman. The club are pushing, with their director currently in Italy to negotiate with Atalanta and the player’s agents.”
Romano highlighted Fenerbahçe’s determination to finalize the move. He added: “Fenerbahçe are really trying to make it happen. You will remember that last summer Inter and Bayern Munich tried, with some Italian and English clubs also keen, but Atalanta eventually decided to keep Ademola Lookman.”
Romano went on to clarify that Fenerbahçe are making a renewed attempt to bring the winger to Turkey.
He noted: “Now Fenerbahçe are trying again to sign Lookman. Negotiations are ongoing with both the player and Atalanta, who are not closing the door to this possibility.”
According to Romano, the discussions involve both the club and the player, with Atalanta remaining open to the prospect of a transfer if Fenerbahçe can meet the necessary conditions.
He said: “Atalanta could consider this option if Fenerbahçe reach an agreement with the player and submit a good financial offer, so talks are ongoing.”
Fenerbahçe are clearly determined to get Lookman over the line before the transfer window closes, staying in close contact with everyone involved.
Talks are still ongoing as both the player and Atalanta consider their options, and Romano’s update shows that the Turkish club are really pushing to make the deal happen.
