Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq is reportedly attracting interest from Valencia ahead of the January transfer window, with the La Liga side considering a move to bolster their attacking options.

Sadiq has endured a difficult start to the 2025/2026 campaign at Real Sociedad, making just seven appearances across all competitions and accumulating only 275 minutes of action. 

The Nigerian international has scored once and provided two assists, a return that has fueled speculation about his future at the Reale Arena.

According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, Valencia are exploring the possibility of bringing the 28-year-old back to the Mestalla as they look to strengthen their forward line and consolidate their position in the league standings. 

A deal would mark a return to familiar territory for Sadiq, who rediscovered his form during a loan spell with Los Che last season.

In the 2024/2025 campaign, after struggling for minutes at Real Sociedad, Sadiq joined Valencia on loan and made an immediate impact. 

He scored six goals in 19 appearances across all competitions, playing a crucial role in the club’s bid to avoid relegation.

With the winter transfer window fast approaching, Valencia are reportedly prioritising attacking reinforcements. 

While Sadiq remains their primary target, the club is also lining up a plan B should negotiations with Real Sociedad fail. Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga has been identified as an alternative option.

For Sadiq, a January move could provide an opportunity to revive his form and secure consistent playing time, after missing the squad for AFCON in Morocco.
