In terms of exceptions, Nigeria did not really meet their target at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, exiting the tournament in the round of 16 despite being the standout team in the group stage with maximum nine points from their three matches.
Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze is hoping the Super Eagles will bounce back by qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
The 2015 U17 World Cup winner has returned to full fitness after missing the first two months of the 2021-2022 campaign due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Arsenal in last season's Europa League semifinal at the Emirates Stadium.
Though Chukwuze was not in tiptop condition in Cameroon as he was lacking match fitness after several months on the sidelines, he started three of the four matches played by the Super Eagles at AFCON 2021.
Speaking to reporters, including allnigeriasoccer.com at the end of training on Tuesday evening, Chukwueze said : "To me bounce back is to win the games against Ghana and qualifying for the 2022 World Cup because it's every Nigerian dream to see their country participate in the World Cup.
"The only bounce back we need is to win and make our country proud".
Chukwueze is competing with Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Dennis and Ademola Lookman for a starting spot against Ghana.
