Watford boss Xisco Muñoz is hoping Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis can continue to impress for his team in upcoming fixtures, starting from the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The summer signing from Club Brugge was recognized as one of the top performers on the opening day of the new Premier League season after scoring on his debut with an assist to go with it in a 3-2 win vs Aston Villa.
Though Dennis showed everyone including Xisco why he should be played ahead of club legend Troy Deeney in the impressive victory against Villa, he didn't really make an impact in the loss to Brighton & Hove.
The Hornets returned to winning ways in the Carabao Cup, beating Crystal Palace 1-0, with the number 25 playing the whole of the second half.
On Dennis, Xisco said to Watford's official website : "We knew about him [before signing], we saw videos of him and we knew his level.
"It is important he continues with the same. He gives us very good things in the last games and it is important to give this attitude and level in future games."
Dennis was the only Super Eagles player on the books of Watford omitted from the Nigeria roster for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The 23-year-old and his Watford teammates are facing a Tottenham Hotspur side who have maximum points from their first two games.
