Fatih Karagumruk winger Ahmed Musa has revealed that the Super Eagles are targeting three points in Saturday's matchday five World Cup qualifier against Liberia at the Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier.
A victory against the Lone Stars could seal Nigeria's qualification to the third and final round of qualifiers with a game to spare, provided nearest challengers Cape Verde drop points at home to Central African Republic.
Gernot Rohr's side currently sit first in Group C with nine points, two more than the Blues Sharks, and five ahead of the Wild Beasts.
Musa, who is Nigeria's most capped player with 101 appearances, is confident that the Super Eagles can secure a win in Saturday's clash.
"Everyone is happy, ready for the game. We have 22 players, tomorrow we are expecting the goalkeeper and Ighalo so we will be a full team," Musa said to the Super Eagles Media Team at the end of training on Wednesday.
"We know the importance of the game, we just need to go for the three points because we don't have to lose, we know the importance.
"By the grace of God, at the end of Saturday's game we are going to be very happy."
The Super Eagles will be facing Liberia at a neutral venue and Musa has pointed out that the weather conditions in Morocco have been favorable, similar to Europe, where all but two of the invitees are based.
"I think the weather is very good, it's just like Europe. Most of us will love the weather so I hope the weather is going to give us what we want by the grace of God".
Musa represented Nigeria at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, scoring braces in the group stage of both tournaments.
