Through their official website, German Bundesliga side FC Cologne have confirmed the signing of former Nigeria U17 international Tolu Arokodare from Latvian top-flight club Valmiera FC.
FESTAC-born Arokadare will play on loan at Cologne until the end of the 2020-2021 season.
The 19-year-old has been in blistering form in the 2020 campaign, scoring 15 goals in 16 league matches for Valmiera, and is currently topping the Virsliga's scoring chart.
In his first words as a player of Cologne, Arokadare said : "For me, it is a dream come true. I have always wanted to play in the Bundesliga. For FC, I want to score many goals and develop myself further. I’m really looking forward to it."
FC Managing Director, Horst Heldt added : "Tolu is a young striker who has the potential to develop and brings many good qualities: he is athletic, good in the air and fast.
"Naturally, he will have to get used to the Bundesliga level.
"However, there is the advantage that he is already at match fitness and comes to us fully motivated".
Arokadare, who previously turned out for Kash Academy, International Academy and Box 2 Box FC in his homeland, joins Kingsley Ehizibue at Cologne.
