Arsenal offer new deals to five teenagers of Nigerian descent

According to Arsenal youth team guru Jeorge Bird, Arsenal have offered new deals to four teenagers of Nigerian descent.

Ovie Ejeheri, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Daniel Oyegoke and Mazeed Ogungbo would be signing their first professional contracts with the Gunners if they accept the offer.

In addition, allnigeriasoccer.com confirmed this evening that 19-year-old goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is in advanced talks with Arsenal over extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have hinted as much, with the aforementioned players omitted from the list of academy players released by the club.

The five teenagers have their contracts expiring at the end of this month.

Ejeheri, Butler-Oyedeji, Oyegoke and Ogungbo were second-year scholars at Arsenal in the recently concluded season.

Goalkeeper Ejeheri made thirteen appearances for Arsenal U18s in 2020-2021 while making the bench for EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 fixtures, while Butler-Oyedeji appeared in fifteen matches at youth level.

Fullbacks Oyegoke and Ogungbo played sixteen and twenty games respectively.
