Folarin Balogun registered his name on the scoresheet to help Middlesbrough claim a 2-0 victory over Birmingham City in a Championship match at St Andrew's Stadium on Tuesday night.

Having fired blanks in his first eleven games for Boro in all competitions, the Arsenal loanee has now found the net in two of his last three games in the division.

Two goals either side of the break from Nico Gordon (own goal) and Balogun were enough to wrap up the points for Chris Wilder's side.

The England U21 international was involved in the build-up to Boro's opener when he linked up with Anfernee Dijksteel, who drilled the ball across goal and Connolly forced an own goal in the 23rd minute.

At minute 62, Balogun scored a fantastic goal with a curling shot from the edge of the area and this time the goal stood after his earlier effort in the first half was disallowed for offside.

The Anglo-American-Nigerian striker joined Boro in search of regular game time in the January transfer window and has logged 746 minutes since landing at Teesside.
