Norwich City interested in signing Swansea-linked defender of Nigerian descent

Norwich City are reportedly ready to battle Swansea City for the signature of Anglo-Nigerian defender Matthew Sorinola.

Football League World is reporting that the Canaries are interested in making a move for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise's Matthew Sorinola in the summer transfer window.

The website earlier reported that Swansea had set their sights on Sorinola in what would be a reunion with his former manager Russell Martin if the transfer materializes.

It was Martin who gave Sorinola his breakthrough at MK Dons, with the left-back making 45 all-competition appearances under the former Rangers defender.

The 21-year-old joined Royale Union Saint-Gilloise last summer after turning down a new and much-improved contract to remain at MK Dons.

Sorinola struggled for game time in his first season in Belgium, logging only 147 minutes spread across fourteen matches in the top-flight, none of which he started.

A product of the Fulham academy, Sorinola has a contract with RUSG until the summer of 2024.
