Alhaji Gero Allays Injury Fears
Published: October 19, 2014
östers IF striker Alhaji Gero has explained the circumstances that led to his substitution in the 1 - 0 loss to GAIS on Sunday.
After the former Enugu Rangers ace was cautioned in the 33rd minute, manager Björknesjö had to withdraw him from the game three minutes before the interval to prevent him from being sent off by the overzealous referee, Dragan Banjac.
But there had been concerns that Gero picked up an injury during the tie at the Myresjöhus Arena (Växjö).
“I am fine. It is right I was substituted because of my yellow card. The referee was very insecure so I was in a risk for a second one.
“But I am in good shape and got a lot of credit for my game today, so looking forward to next game, ” Alhaji Gero explained to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 21 - year - old, who is being linked with a winter departure from Osters, has racked up 7 goals in all competitions this season.
