Done Deal : KuPS Bring In Ex-Golden Eaglets Star Abubakar Aliyu
Published: March 27, 2016
Through official channels, Finnish Veikkausliiga side KuPS have announced the signing of Nigeria youth international Abubakar Aliyu following a successful trial.
The central defender has put pen to paper on a one- year contract with the Kuopio-based club, who have retained the option of prolonging his stay for 12 months at the end of the 2016 season.
Abubakar Aliyu went the distance in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Finnish First Division side AC Oulu and was impressive.
The 19 - year - old cut all ties with Israeli team MS Ashdod at the end of the 2014 - 15 season following their demotion to the Liga Leumit, though there was an option to extend his contract.
He joins compatriot Azubuike Egwuekwe, Gbolahan Salami and Paul Onobi at KuPS.
