Central Defender Turned Striker Elijah Adebayo Continues To Catch The Eye At Fulham
Published: February 25, 2017
Fulham secured top spot in their Premier League Cup group with a game to spare thanks to their 4-2 win over Charlton Athletic at Motspur Park on Friday night.
A brace from George Williams and goals from Nigerian striker Elijah Adebayo and Matt O’Riley helped the Cottagers record a convincing win over their London rivals.
On 79 minutes, Adebayo found himself alone in the opponents box, before nodding the ball into the net and quelled any chance of a fightback in the process.
Aged 19, the Londoner used to play as a central defender before he switched back to a striking role.
Earlier in the season, then a Fulham loanee, he netted a hat-trick on his debut for Slough Town in their 4-1 rout of Bognor Regis Town.
