Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has arrived at the team’s training camp in Antalya, Turkey, bringing the total number of players in camp to 22 as preparations continue for the upcoming international friendly matches.
Ndidi’s arrival further strengthens the squad, with the experienced midfielder immediately linking up with teammates during training sessions.
His presence is expected to provide leadership and stability as the coaching crew intensifies work on tactics and team cohesion ahead of the fixtures.
The camp now consists of a strong mix of established internationals and emerging talents.
Players currently in training include Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Paul Onuachu, Moses Simon, Semi Ajayi, Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye, Adebayo Adeleye, Bruno Onyemaechi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igoh Ogbu, Zaidu Sanusi, Raphael Onyedika, Chidera Ejuke, Philip Otele, Yira Sor and Emmanuel Fernandez.
However, the squad has suffered a setback with the withdrawal of Fulham central defender Calvin Bassey, who has pulled out of the matches due to a back injury.
His absence leaves the coaching staff to explore alternative defensive options within the current group.
Despite this, preparations remain on track, with players showing strong commitment and intensity in camp.
The Super Eagles will face Iran in their first friendly on Friday, before taking on Jordan in their second outing on Tuesday.
