France Legend Alain Giresse: I Was Badly Treated By Rohr

Retired France international Alain Giresse says he was badly treated by Gernot Rohr in a league match between Marseille and Bordeaux in April 1987, so much so that the Super Eagles manager was red carded in the first half.

It would be recalled that defender Rohr spent twelve years of his career at Bordeaux before hanging up his boots in 1989.

''I was not badly treated by the Bordeaux defense but by a player (Rohr),'' Giresse said to sofoot.com.

''It's hard not to remember. (The German defender Girondins had been expelled in the 22nd minute after an attack on Alain Giresse,ed)''.

Giresse was asked if he had met Rohr since the incident occurred and he answered : ''No. We met each other, but we never talked about that. To do what ?

''Instructions or not, it does not matter, there is only the result that counts, what happened. I suffered full force, that's all I remember.''

Rohr also turned out for Bayern Munich, SV Waldhof Mannheim and Kickers Offenbach.
