Done Deal: Arsenal Announce First Signing Of January Transfer Window
Premier League side Arsenal have snapped up young Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from PAS Giannina.
Speaking after The Gunners 2-2 draw versus Chelsea, French manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that the Greek U21 international will join the club but will be loaned out as he's not yet ready to play.
As reported by gazzetta.gr, Arsenal have finalized a fee in the region of 2.1 million euros to bring Mavropanos to the Emirates Stadium.
The 20-year-old has already passed his medical examination and will append his signature to at least a four-year deal.
It is envisaged that Arsenal will officially announce the player's next destination before the end of this week, although they plan to loan him to German side Werder Bremen.
Konstantinos Mavropanos made his first-team debut for PAS Giannina in November 2016.
