Crystal Palace beat Leeds United on matchday eight in the Premier League and they did it in a convincing way, scoring four goals against Marcelo Bielsa's team.
The Eagles led 3-1 at the break, Scott Dann putting the home team in front in the 12th minute, Eberechi Eze made it 2-0 with a wonderful free-kick, Patrick Bamford halved the deficit and this time it did count after his earlier effort was disallowed for offside, before Helder Costa put through his own goal.
Ghana international Jordan Ayew scored from close range to add further gloss to the scoreline in the 70th minute.
Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville and Liverpool icon Michael Owen who were on punditry duties for Premier League Productions during the clash hailed Eze for his brilliant free-kick.
"Brilliantly executed free-kick. You talk about the best free-kick takers in the world, you talk about the technique - they get the dip on the ball," Phil Neville said.
"Look at that space that he's got to aim for and he puts it right in the point that the keeper can't get to it. Absolutely sensational free-kick."
Owen added : "The amazing thing was the tallest man in the wall that the ball went over and he jumped. It was the most amazing, incredible free-kick".
Eze, who went the distance against Leeds United, provided the assist for Crystal Palace's opener - his first goal involvement for the Eagles - before opening his account for the season.
