Slavia Prague head coach Jindřich Trpišovský has delivered positive injury news regarding Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu, stating that the 26-year-old is making steady progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury ahead of next weekend's Prague derby.
Trpišovský was asked about the return of injured players with important fixtures approaching, including a cup match in Jablonec and the derby against Sparta Prague, and whether the situation was improving regarding player availability.
The Slavia Prague coach responded by highlighting the presence of some returning players in training and matchday squads, saying that “Tomáš Vlček and Igoh Ogbu were already on the bench and our doctors and physiotherapists are doing everything to make Lukáš Provod fit for the derby," he said about quoted by Idnes.
Ogbu sustained a hamstring injury in January, which forced him to miss several matches while undergoing rehabilitation under the club’s medical department.
His recent return to the bench signals progress in his recovery process as he works toward full match fitness.
Trpišovský also provided updates on another Nigerian player, David Moses, indicating that his return could be close.
He said that “David Moses could also join next week. We could give some of the returning players space, for example, at half-time in the B-team derby in Eden.”
