With twelve days to the start of the January transfer window, former Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer Jude Aneke hopes that Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo will make a return to European club football after his Chinese Super League side Changchun Yatai were relegated.
Former Watford and Granada star Ighalo is expected to attract interest from clubs in China and parts of Europe in the next few weeks.
"For Ighalo it depends on him, but in my opinion he should come back to Europe if he gets good offers," Aneke told allnigeriasoccer.com.
"He is a good striker. We're talking about the top scorer in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers but I feel his career will improve even further if he plays in Europe again. It may necessarily not be in England.
"The monetary side is great but also is the football even though playing in the Chinese league cannot be criteria for his involvement in Nigeria's games.
''Odion is that good. We just want to see our best players every weekend in a top league," Aneke stated.
