Charlton Athletic on Friday night reached the final of the League One Playoffs with a 4-3 penalty shootout win over Doncaster Rovers with young English midfielder of Nigerian descent Joe Aribo putting  up an impressive showing at the Valley.

The game ended 3-2 in favour of Doncaster at full time and 30 minutes of extra time required to settle the tie with aggregate score at 4-4 with the Addicks having won the first leg 2-1.
 
The former English Premier side have booked their first trip to the Wembley Stadium for the first time in 21 years and face Sunderland for a place in the Championship on May 26.

Aribo had a good game and was the creator of some goal scoring chances albeit he  also gave up the ball on few occasions.

In the ensuing penalty shootout, Aribo who wore Jersey number 17 converted from 12 yards, the fourth penalty by the  team coached by Lee Bowyer.

Charlton who had scored their first four kicks missed the fifth kick taken by Mouhamadou-Naby Sarr but with Doncaster not scoring their last two, victory was certain for Aribo's team whose goals in regulation and extra-time were scored by Krystian Bielik and Darren Pratley respectively.
