Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted two teenagers of Nigerian descent to first team training on Monday, on the eve of his side's UEFA Champions League meeting with Inter Milan at the San Siro, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Forward Andre Harriman-Annous and defender Josh Nichols were among the players who trained with the senior squad at the Sobha Realty Training Centre in London Colney ahead of the trip to Milan.
In addition to Harriman-Annous and Nichols, Nigeria Football Federation target Ethan Nwaneri, as well as cap-tied England internationals of Nigerian heritage Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, were also present during the session.
Harriman-Annous has not featured for any Arsenal side since 11 November 2025 when he completed the full 90 minutes in an EFL Trophy encounter against Cardiff City.
The youngster has since made a full recovery from an injury sustained in the build-up to Arsenal’s UEFA Youth League fixture against Bayern Munich.
Regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the club's academy, Harriman-Annous has earned four first-team call-ups this season, going on to make his debuts in both the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
Nichols is yet to make his Champions League debut for the Gunners, although he was an unused substitute in last month's 3–0 victory away to Club Brugge.
Against Inter Milan, Arsenal will be targeting a seventh consecutive Champions League win — a feat that would mark the longest winning streak in the competition in the club's history.
