Arsenal Congratulate Akpom As PAOK Match Gunners' 2003-2004 Feat
Arsenal have congratulated one of their products, Chuba Akpom for PAOK winning the Greek Super League title without losing a single game over the course of the 2018-2019 season.
The Gunners have achieved this feat before in the Premier League back in the 2003-2004 season when they went 38 games unbeaten, with Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu part of the side.
That Arsenal team has been referred to as The Invincibles and Akpom was labelled an Invincible after PAOK matched the feat of his boyhood club.
Arsenal Academy tweeted: ''Congratulations to @CAkpom, who’s gone a full league season unbeaten with @PAOK_FC 👠#Invincible ðŸ†''.
PAOK finishing the season unbeaten happened for only the second time in the history of Greek football, equaling the achievement of Panathinaikos who first set the record in the 1963-64 season.
The Thessaloniki based club racked up 26 wins and four draws, with Akpom featuring in 20 games and scoring 6 goals.
