FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) earlier passed a judgement instructing Boavista to pay five thousand euros to El Kanemi Junior Football Club but they did not comply with their financial obligations.
Boavista's transfer ban from registering players internationally has already been implemented by FIFA and the Zurich-based organization has instructed the Portuguese Football Federation to immediately ban Boavista from registering new players at national level.
Awaziem moved to Boavista on a season-long loan deal from Porto in September 2020 and the deal came with an option to make it permanent for a fee of five million euros, while the loan fee was 300,000 euros.
The purchase clause became mandatory to be activated after the Super Eagles defender made his tenth appearance for Boavista (must play 45 minutes or more in each game) in December but Porto have not yet been paid the transfer fee.
Boavista are now desperate to sell Awaziem before the close of the summer transfer window to keep their books balanced and are shopping for a buyer for one of their key players in 2020-2021.
Awaziem has been linked with a possible switch to Turkish giants Besiktas but nothing has come out of it yet.
