Braintree Town striker Simeon Akinola has been named to the England C squad for the upcoming friendly against Republic of Ireland Under 21s. <br /><br />The 22 - year - old is among 16 non - leaguers invited for the game which will be held in Galway, Ireland on June 1.<br /><br />A product of Billericay Town, Akinola appeared 38 times in the Conference National this season, scoring 8 goals and clocking up 3,106 minutes in the process.<br /><br />This is the first time England C boss Paul Fairclough has given an opportunity to the Anglo - Nigerian to pull on The Three Lions jersey.<br /><br />Footballers below the age of 23 years that ply their trade outside the top four tiers of English football are eligible to represent England at C level.<br /><br />Photo Credit : borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk<br />
