Nigeria U23 international Ubong Ekpai has arrived in Israel for negotiations with Premier League side Maccabi Haifa, with a view to a transfer in the summer.<br /><br />The official website of <i>The Greens</i> has reported that the Akwa United striker has passed a medical examination and will begin training with the team.<br /><br />If Ubong Ekpai impresses manager Ronny Levy during the workouts plus test games and he is offered a contract, he will follow in the footsteps of Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who defended the colours of the club from 1998&ndash;2003.<br /><br />The 20-year-old netted the match-winning goal for the Nigeria U23s in their friendly against Brazil last month.<br /><br />Emmanuel Abuma King recently penned a multi-year contract with Maccabi Haifa and plays for the youth team of the club.<br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel<br /><br />Photo Credit : mhaifafc.com<br /><br /><br />
