Brighton's Atinaro among four Super Falcons-eligible players named in latest England U20 squad

The English Football Association have made amendments to the England Women's U20 squad announced last week, with one of the changes involving a player eligible to represent the Super Falcons.

On Monday, the FA confirmed that Brighton & Hove Albion defender Damilola Atinaro has been drafted into the squad as a replacement for Chelsea's Chloe Sarwie, who has been elevated to the U23 set-up after initially being selected for the U20s.

Atinaro's late inclusion brings to four the number of Super Falcons-eligible players named by head coach Lauren Smith.

She joins Arsenal academy graduate Omotora Junaid, former West Ham forward Princess Ademiluyi and Manchester City youngster Jane Oboavwoduo in the squad.

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the FA flew Florida State Seminoles midfielder Junaid into camp two days ago.

Oboavwoduo and Junaid were part of the England squad that reached the semifinals of the 2024 Fifa U17 Women's World Cup, while Ademiluyi has earned promotion following her impressive performances for the U19s.

England U20s will travel to Spain for a four-nation tournament as part of their preparations for the 2026 Fifa U20 Women's World Cup.

The Young Lionesses face China PR on Wednesday, before rounding off their fixtures with games against the United States and Mexico on November 29 and December 2 respectively..
