Super Falcons striker Ini Umotong is eager for the start of the revamped FA Women’s Super League season.
Last term, the Brighton & Hove star was playing against the likes of Doncaster Belles, Sheffield, Watford and Aston Villa in the WSL 2, but she is now relishing the prospect of stepping out onto the same pitch with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool stars in the upcoming season.
''It will be a big step up. We have a few girls that have experience of playing in the top flight, but a lot of us haven’t played in the division before now,'' Umotong told the official website of the Seagulls.
''We had good exposure to it last season playing against Chelsea, Man City and Bristol City, and it’s nice to know we can compete with the best.
''We’re very excited and looking to give it all we have in the Women’s Super League.''
Other clubs that will form part of the the FA Women’s Super League for the 2018-19 season are: Birmingham City Ladies, Bristol City Women, Everton Ladies FC, Reading FC Women, Yeovil Town Ladies and West Ham United Ladies.
Umotong helped Brighton secure promotion to the topflight with 8 goals in 15 appearances last season.
