Arsenal's Nigerian striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has been rewarded for his brilliant start to the season, having been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August.
The Hale End Academy graduate beat teammate Khayon Edwards, West Ham's Josh Ajala and Lewis Orford, Manchester United's starlet Jack Fletcher, as well as Nottingham Forest duo Kyle McAdam and Aaron Bott, and Fulham's Kristian Sekularac to the award.
Butler-Oyedeji has started the season Ike a house on fire, scoring in every game he played in August and also registering two assists within that period.
He has scored four goals this term which is the highest he has scored in the Premier League 2 for Arsenal's development side in a single season.
His strike against Manchester United was nominated for the Gunners' Goal of the Month, but he lost to Kai Havertz's goal against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Due to his form, he has had the chance to train with the first team this season, doing so before the Premier League clash with the Seagulls.
He was linked with a move away from the north London club this summer with Belgian clubs Standard Liege and Eupen credited with an interest in him but none solidified their interest
With the transfer window almost closed everywhere in Europe, the Anglo-Nigerian forward may remain with Arsenal till January at least.
