Chelsea academy products Ola Aina and Ike Ugbo have both taken to social media to send messages to Tammy Abraham following the striker's transfer to Italian Serie A outfit on Tuesday, August 17.
Jose Mourinho's Roma have bolstered their squad with the capture of the one-time Nigeria Football Federation target for a fee of 40 million euros, signing him on a five-year deal.
Abraham, who progressed through the academy ranks before making his first-team debut, joined Chelsea in 2004, three years before Aina and Ugbo's move to Stamford Bridge.
Aina and Abraham played together in the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Youth League in 2015 and 2016, while Ugbo and the England international were part of the Blues squad that lifted the FA Youth Cup in 2016.
Taking to Instagram, Abraham penned a farewell message to Chelsea after his transfer to Roma was confirmed.
He wrote, accompanied by a video of his best moments as a Chelsea player : "It’s time to say goodbye to a club that means so much to me and my family.
"From playing at the academy as a young kid from Peckham to winning the Champions League all those years later…
"I want to say thank you to my teammates, The Academy, all of the staff and of course, the Chelsea fans who have always supported me.
"Wouldn’t be who I am today without you guys. Bring more trophies home boys! Love you all x"
Reacting to Abraham's post, Torino defender Aina said : "Goose and bumps 😢🔥🔥🔥".
