Chelsea are reportedly the latest Premier League giants interested in signing talented Nigeria-eligible left-back Yisa Alao in the January transfer window.
According to Sheffield Star, Chelsea have joined Liverpool and Manchester United in making a bid for the 17-year-old defender.
Alao has received eighteen first-team call-ups this season and has featured in four matches, making his debuts in the Championship, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
In his most recent outing for the first team, he made his starting debut for The Owls, playing for an hour in a 2-0 loss to Premier League side Brentford in the FA Cup.
According to the report, Alao is content at Sheffield Wednesday and he's enjoying the opportunities he has been given under manager Henrik Pedersen, with no immediate desire to leave.
However, ongoing issues at Sheffield Wednesday mean careful consideration is required before any long-term commitment.
Despite interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday may not be under immediate pressure to sell, given assurances from the administrators regarding financial backing during the takeover process.
Having joined the club at U7 level, Alao progressed through the academy ranks to make his senior debut against Bolton Wanderers in August 2025.
