Confirmed team news: No chance of Fulham midfielder Iwobi facing Bournemouth

Alex Iwobi will play no part in Saturday's Premier League meeting between Fulham and Bournemouth at Craven Cottage.

The Nigeria international has not featured for the Cottagers since sustaining a hamstring injury during the first half of their matchday 33 encounter against Brentford.

One of the first names on manager Marco Silva's team sheet when fully fit, Iwobi has now missed consecutive Premier League fixtures against Aston Villa and Arsenal due to the injury setback.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Silva confirmed that both Ryan Sessegnon and Iwobi would not be available for selection against the Cherries.

Before his spell on the sidelines, Iwobi had made 27 Premier League appearances this season, registering four goals and three assists.

Samuel Chukwueze has benefitted from Iwobi's absence, with Silva handing the AC Milan loanee a place in the starting lineup as cover for the Hale End Academy graduate.

Nigeria coach Eric Chelle will be keeping a close watch on Iwobi's recovery, with the midfielder in his plans for next month's high-profile international friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

Iwobi is closing in on the milestone of 100 appearances for the Super Eagles, a feat previously achieved by Ahmed Musa, Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo.
