Confluence Queens Down Under 13 Boys

A full-strength Confluence Queens side featuring Tosin Emmanuel, Mariam Aluko, Chioma Wogu, Ruth Sunday and Lola Philips recorded a 3-1 to a pre-season win against an U13 selected side on Thursday evening.<br /><br />Aishat Bello gave the Wada Queens the lead in the first minute, before Ogunleye Kehinde and free kick specialist Olaitan Mary scored one each.<br /><br />However, the U13 boys netted a late strike to end the match 3-1 at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.<br /><br />The game was the first tune up match for the Lokoja based side in preparation for the upcoming Nigeria Women Premier League season. <br /><br />Aishat Bello gave the hosts the lead after a sweet team work some seconds into the match.<br /><br />She continued to be a source worry to the young boys and was brought down in the penalty area mid way into the first half.<br /><br />The resultant spot kick was surprisingly missed by Ginika Ikeh who couldn&rsquo;t get her execution right.<br /><br />Confluence Queens made some changes to their set-up with the likes of Chioma Wogu, Lola Philips, Oluchi Ezeji and Olaitan Mary all given minutes to perform.<br /><br />Ogunleye Kehinde doubled the lead in the early part of the second 45 minutes.<br /><br />The main talking point was the set piece whipped in by former Sunshine Queens attacking midfielder Olaitan Mary. <br /><br />The playmaker completely deceived the goalkeeper with her effort.<br /><br />Determined not to go home empty-handed, the U13 boys grabbed a face saving goal in the dying moments of the match. <br />
