'Constantly progress' - Udinese goalkeeper Okoye reveals his personal goals for the season

Speaking to DAZN ahead of Udinese's ongoing Serie A clash with Bologna, Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye opened up on his ambitions for the 2025-2026 campaign, reaffirming his determination to keep improving and cement his place at the club.

Okoye's first appearance of the season came only on October 20, following the completion of a two-month suspension for a betting-related offence.

Since returning, the Nigerian international has been reinstated as Udinese's first-choice goalkeeper and made his sixth consecutive league start in the meeting with Bologna.

Last season, the former Sparta Rotterdam star kept four clean sheets across his 25 Serie A outings.

Having reclaimed his spot, he is focused on taking his performances to an even higher level.

When asked about his personal goals for the season, Okoye was quoted by CalcioNews24 as saying: "I want to become a key figure for Udinese.

"I want to help the team, be decisive when needed, and prove every day why I’m here.

"My goal is to constantly progress and give my all for these colours."

On the international stage, Okoye was included in Nigeria's squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff fixtures against Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, he remained an unused substitute in both matches, with coach Eric Chelle opting to continue with Chippa United's Stanley Nwabali in goal.
