Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has praised Samuel Chukwueze for his decisive impact in Fulham’s narrow 1-0 victory over Sunderland at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The Nigerian winger delivered a perfectly measured cross that set up Raúl Jiménez’s late winner, sealing all three points for Marco Silva’s side.
Chukwueze, who joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan in the summer, was introduced in the 64th minute and quickly became a constant threat on the right flank.
With six minutes left on the clock, he curled a precise ball into the box for Jiménez to fire home, a moment Sherwood described as exceptional vision and technique.
"I don't see the pass but Chukwueze did,” Sherwood told Sky Sports. “He curled the ball beautifully in behind the defence for Jimenez to finish."
Despite a slow start to life in England, the Nigerian International is beginning to find his rhythm in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old has registered two assists in seven matches, totalling 132 minutes, without yet starting a Premier League match.
Chukwueze will now look to build on this performance as he pushes for a place in Silva’s starting lineup.
