Danish Superliga club Randers take John on trial after scouting trip to Nigeria

Danish Superliga club Randers are running the rule over little-known Nigerian player Precious P. John with a view to a potential transfer.

According to the official website of Randers, John has been named in the matchday squad for Wednesday afternoon's reserve team match against FC Fredericia on the artificial turf field at Cepheus Park Randers.

Listed as a trialist, John is one of five players named on Randers' substitutes bench.

Randers' football director, Søren Pedersen, stated in a written response to Danish website Bold that the young Nigerian is one of the players that the club's scouts have seen on their trip to Nigeria.

A right-back by trade, he is eligible to sign a professional contract with Randers, given that he was born in 2007, and will now be keen to impress the club's decision-makers during his trial period.

Randers have enjoyed a notable connection with Nigerian players over the years, with Super Eagles forward Stephen Odey, former Nigeria U23 invitee and Manchester United academy product Tosin Kehinde, ex-Super Eagles invitee Vincent Onovo, Mustapha Isah and Marvin Egho among those to have worn the club's colours.

The East Jutland club are ninth in the Danish Superliga club with 26 points from 22 matches played.
