Through their official website, EFL Championship club Derby County have announced that they have welcomed in eleven new first year scholars ahead of the 2021-2022 season.
Adebayo Fapetu and Dubem Eze are among the new intake of academy scholars who will compete in the U18 Premier League North in the new season, as they prepare to take on two-year apprenticeships at the Rams.
The two Anglo-Nigerian youngsters have been offered scholarship deals following a successful trial in the second half of last season.
An attacking midfielder by trade, Eze who is not related to Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze has joined Derby County following his departure from Chelsea's Academy, while box-to-box midfielder Fapetu spent his U16 season at Arsenal.
Derby County have confirmed that ex-Manchester United academy star Olamide Ibrahim has entered the second year of his scholarship with the club.
Another former Manchester United schoolboy in German-born Osazee Aghatise came to the end of his scholarship in the summer and has been promoted to Derby U23s ahead of the new season.
Aged 18, the midfielder played the last six minutes of the recent friendly between Derby County's first team and his former employers Manchester United.
