Through their official website, newly-promoted League One club Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the loan signing of Anglo-Nigerian winger Xavier Amaechi.
The England U20 international has put pen to paper on an initial six-month loan deal from German 2 Bundesliga side Hamburger SV.
Amaechi played youth football for Fulham and Arsenal before sealing a transfer to Hamburg in the summer of 2019.
He is the second player of Nigerian descent to sign for Bolton Wanderers in the off season after Dapo Afolayan, who arrived on a free transfer from West Ham United.
In his first words as a player of Bolton Wanderers, Amaechi said : "I’m looking forward to getting started with the boys. Hopefully I can start pre-season well and then look forward to the start of the season.
"I had contact with the gaffer a few weeks before pre-season and he told me that his plans were to have a good season in League One and hopefully get back to the Championship.
"The manager was really positive and ambitious and that came across really well when I spoke to him.
"I want to get in a good rhythm and help the team progress."
The 20-year-old Amaechi has a valid contract with Hamburg until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
