Through official channels, Finnish <span class="_xJh">Veikkausliiga side KuPS have announced the signing of Nigeria youth international Abubakar Aliyu following a successful trial.<br /><br />The central defender has put pen to paper on a one- year contract with the </span><span class="st">Kuopio-based club, who have retained the option of prolonging his stay for 12 months at the end of the 2016 season.<br /><br /></span><span class="_xJh">Abubakar Aliyu went the distance in Thursday</span>&rsquo;s 1-1 draw with Finnish First Division side AC Oulu and was impressive.<br /><br />The 19 - year - old cut all ties with Israeli team MS Ashdod at the end of the 2014 - 15 season following their demotion to the Liga Leumit, though there was an option to extend his contract.<br /><br />He joins compatriot Azubuike Egwuekwe, Gbolahan Salami and Paul Onobi at KuPS.<br /><br /><b>Igho Kingsley</b> <br /><br />Photo Credit : kupd.fi<br />
