With a statement on the official website, English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the signing of Nigeria-eligible defender Tayo Adaramola on a loan deal from Premier League club Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season.
Adaramola, 22, has been with Crystal Palace since the age of 12, advancing through the club’s academy to the first-team ranks.
Primarily a left-sided wing-back, he can also operate at full-back, providing versatility to Sheffield Wednesday’s defensive options.
The Dubliner signed professional terms with Palace in 2020 and earned a call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-17 international squad.
He later represented Ireland at the Under-23 level following notable performances with Palace’s Under-18 side.
During the 2021/22 season, Adaramola was named Palace Under-18 Player of the Year.
He also made his first-team debut in the FA Cup against Hartlepool that season, marking a milestone in his professional career.
To gain regular first-team experience, Adaramola has had several loan spells.
He joined Belgian Pro League side RWD Molenbeek before returning to England with Stockport County and later Bradford City, helping the Bantams secure promotion to League One last season.
At the start of the current campaign, he joined Leyton Orient on loan.
Heading north to Hillsborough, Adaramola will remain with Sheffield Wednesday until May, adding depth and attacking options from the flanks. The club highlighted his experience across multiple competitive leagues at a young age.
In a separate move, Aston Villa confirmed the loan transfer of Nigeria-eligible youngster Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba to Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
Jimoh-Aloba, 19, an England U20 international of Nigerian descent, spent ten years with West Brom before joining Aston Villa in 2023.
Since his arrival, he has progressed through Villa’s youth teams and earned opportunities with the senior squad.
His development was marked by a Premier League debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Last Thursday, he scored his first senior goal for Villa in a 3–2 UEFA Europa League win over Utrecht at Villa Park.
The loan move to West Brom is aimed at providing Jimoh-Aloba with regular first-team experience in the Championship.
