Nigeria's caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has revealed that he has been working with the Super Eagles players on finishing before their second group game of the Africa Cup of Nations against Sudan.
The Super Eagles squandered a lot of chances to score during the 1-0 win over Egypt with Chidera Ejuke, Taiwo Awoniyi, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi and Ola Aina failing to convert.
Eguavoen insists the players have to share the goalscoring burden and is planning to bring the tall players in the squad such as central defenders Kenneth Omeruo and William Troost-Ekong to join the attack for set pieces.
At the last Africa Cup of Nations, Omeruo headed home from a corner kick delivery to score the winning goal against Guinea and in the quarterfinal against South Africa, Troost-Ekong scored the game-winning goal from a corner.
"Responsibility of strikers is to score goals but where that one is not coming we are looking for assists that is why set-pieces we send our big boys forward in case there are crosses they can also contribute in terms of scoring," Eguavoen said at Friday's presser.
"Where that one is not happening we try to do a combination of play. I have always told them to have confidence all the boys.
"Whoever that can find himself on the scoresheet I think is fine enough.
"In the past two days we have been working on finishing and hopefully they will be able to translate that into the game proper tomorrow."
Three-time champions Nigeria have won ten of their last twelve Africa Cup of Nations matches, keeping six clean sheets.
