Nigeria defeated Coton Sport FC de Garoua 2-0 in a practice match on Friday, courtesy of goals from Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze.
In his first game in charge, albeit an unofficial match, interim Super Eagles manager Augustine Eguavoen has revealed what impressed him about the win against the 15-time Cameroonian champions.
The 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner was impressed by the players' movements and their ball possession.
With the exception of Daniel Akpeyi, all the players in camp were given a run-out with Eguavoen fielding two different teams for each half.
The Super Eagles legend noted that the players struggled to cope with the weather conditions as the game progressed.
On his thoughts on the whole game, Eguavoen told NFF TV : "Impressive, we played two sets of teams. First half eleven players, second half another eleven players just to see how they can fare and cope with the weather conditions.
"I can tell you we struggled a little bit with the weather but in terms of ball possession and movement I think we were very impressed.
"Winning this game is a very good thing for us."
The three-time African champions will have a Nigeria vs Nigeria in-house game before their Africa Cup of Nations opener against the Pharaohs.
