Eintracht Frankfurt and Newcastle forward Osula reach verbal agreement over winter move
Eintracht Frankfurt narrowly missed out on signing Newcastle United's Danish-Nigerian forward William Osula on deadline day in the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Germany transfer expert Florian Plettenberg, the Bundesliga club remain keen on securing the Super Eagles-eligible striker in January.
The report states that Frankfurt have a verbal agreement in place with Osula, who is eager to make the move.
Eintracht Frankfurt are weighing up a winter loan deal, expected to cost around €3 million, with a purchase option set at €20 million.
However, the deal can only proceed if Newcastle United's owners give the green light.
Osula featured in Newcastle's first ten Premier League matches of the season, starting just once, before an ankle injury ruled him out of the last three league fixtures.
The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances across all competitions this term, contributing three goals and one assist.
Should the move for Osula fail to materialise, Frankfurt have identified SV Elversberg forward Younes Ebnoutalib as an alternative option.
Signed from Sheffield United in August 2024, Osula has a contract with Newcastle until June 30, 2029.
