Everton Winger Alex Iwobi Names Nigeria Legend As His Childhood Hero

Everton summer signing Alex Iwobi has revealed that his uncle Jay-Jay Okocha was his childhood idol.

The Nigeria international kicked off Everton's new 'Get To Know Me' series, in which the club find out things about their summer signings.

A product of Arsenal's Hale End Academy, Iwobi was at the North London club for fifteen years before completing a move to the Toffees on deadline day, signing a five-year deal until the end of the 2023-2024 season.

Asked to name his childhood idol, Iwobi said : ''My uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha always''.

The Everton number 17 stated that the best moment of his career was scoring the game-winner against Zambia that sent the Super Eagles to the 2018 World Cup with his mom and dad watching from the stands.

Iwobi revealed that he has no tattoos and admitted that he is scared of snakes or any wild animal.

The Super Eagle was an unused substitute as Everton beat Watford 1-0 in their first home match of the season.
