Every word Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi said after completing loan move to Porto

OGC Nice's Nigeria international striker Terem Moffi has joined Portuguese giants FC Porto on loan for the remainder of the season, with the deal including an option to make the move permanent for a fee of eight million euros.

Should the clause be activated, the French club will be entitled to an additional €250,000 if Moffi meets certain performance objectives, as well as 10% of any profit from a future sale of the Super Eagles star.

Moffi is Porto's third signing in the January transfer window, after Thiago Silva and Oskar Pietueszewski.

Since his arrival at OGC Nice in January 2023, Moffi has featured in 72 matches for the club, scoring 24 goals and providing five assists across all competitions.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Moffi expressed his gratitude to Porto and added that the club's winning mentality was a major factor in his move.

"I feel very proud to be here, to wear the colours of the club. It is really emotional for me, and I appreciate the president, coach, and fans," Moffi said to Porto's official webpage.

"It is a club that always strives to win trophies, to win games in the Champions League and Liga Portugal. We know how important this is to the fans and to the Porto family, so it is really good to be here."

Moffi reunites with coach Francesco Farioli, having previously recorded 11 goals and 2 assists under him in the 2023-24 season at OGC Nice.

"Francesco focuses on details — body shape, how you take the touch, where you take the touch into. He's really focused on details to make you a better player. It’s not surprising to see what he’s doing now. When he left, he went to Ajax and did great there, and he’s now at Porto doing something extraordinary. Big ups to him," Moffi said.

The 26-year-old was in the OGC Nice side that lost 3-0 to Porto in a Europa League encounter in November 2025.

"Two months ago, we played against Porto and it wasn't the best feeling because we lost, so this time around I’m on the other side. It’s a very good feeling," the Nigerian added.

Moffi emphasised the importance of enjoying football, which he believes brings out his best performances.

"As a player, I just love being happy playing football. When I am happy playing football, nothing else matters. That’s when I am at my best. I love scoring goals, I love working for the team, and I love interacting with the fans.

"Huge expectations, I know, but I think with the help of God, the goals they want to see, they are going to see it."

Moffi, who links up with Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi at Porto, has been allocated the number 29 kit for the second half of the 2025-2026 season.
