Ex-Chelsea Striker Samuel Etoo : I Am Too Old To Play Against Nigeria
Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o will not be making a comeback to the Cameroonian National Team ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Nigeria in August 2017.<br /><br />The four-time African Footballer of the Year called time on his international career in 2014 after scoring 56 goals in 118 appearances for the Indomitable Lions.<br /><br />In an interview with Telefoot, Eto’o ruled out a return to the squad for the African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers because of his age.<br /><br />“Oh no! I’m a little old for that ... There’s a young generation. Even if they have almost the same age with me,” said Eto’o.<br /><br />Now 35, Eto’o first played against Nigeria in 1997 at the LG Cup in Tunis, before two appearances at the African Cup of Nations in 2000 and 2004. <br /><br />He scored two goals in those three matches against the Super Eagles. <br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel <br />
