Through a statement on the official website, League One club Plymouth Argyle have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2025-2026 season.

Among the players retained is Super Eagles hopeful Owen Oseni, who remains under contract with the Pilgrims until June 30, 2028.

Allngeriasoccer.com exclusively reported exactly a month ago that Oseni is eager to represent the Super Eagles ahead of their upcoming internationals against Zimbabwe and either India or Jamaica.

Contrary to rumours circulating in the local media, this website can report with certainty that Nigeria manager Eric Chelle has already opened a line of communication with the centre-forward ahead of his squad announcement for the Unity Cup.

Oseni is also eligible to represent 2023 African champions Ivory Coast through his mother and his country of birth, the Republic of Ireland. 

This past season, the Waterford native appeared in 33 matches for Plymouth Argyle, scoring ten goals while providing five assists. 

Meanwhile, former Manchester City youth team captain Nathanael Ogbeta will leave the Pilgrims upon the expiry of his contract on June 30, 2026.

The left-back featured in 20 games, scoring one goal, after joining from St Mirren last summer.
